Opportunity With the explosive growth of computers and related IT assets, Regency Technologies recognized early on that used and obsolete IT equipment would quickly become an issue for companies – and the environment. Today, Regency recovers, resells and recycles hundreds of thousands of computers and electronics through their 300,000+ square feet of facilities in Cleveland, Atlanta, Chicago, and Orlando.
As the company grew, their original brand became outdated while their service offerings increased in complexity. They chose a.i. Design Group to update their brand and convey their message through clear, concise print materials and a well-organized website.
a.i. Design Group’s Response Extensive core market research and a thorough understanding of Regency’s business model led us to a modern, expansive branding solution. By avoiding the obvious – computer imagery, ecological symbols, green coloration – our solution focuses on what the entire organization provides. The brand communicates integration and transformation while being general enough to remain relevant as technology advances.
Next we developed a tagline, color scheme, icon set, and visual guidelines, then applied these standards to Regency’s stationery, brochure and website. A strong color palette helps identify Regency’s key business areas, while positive imagery focuses on the process and end result of Regency’s services without relying on the scare tactics many of their competitors use to stress the importance of electronics recycling and proper data erasure.
Result Regency Technologies has a strong, recognizable image that is consistent across all points of contact. Their service offerings are well-organized and easy to understand both in print and online. In addition to print materials and a website, a.i. Design also produced a “virtual” facility tour with an overview of Regency’s processes, as well as a client login area allowing Regency to provide up-to-the-minute reporting on the location and status of all electronic assets.

About the Awards The GD•USA American Graphic Design Awards is a four decade old competition open to the entire graphic arts community. It honors outstanding new work in traditional categories such as print and packaging as well as today’s high tech areas of internet and interactive design.
Over 10,000 entries are submitted each year from hundreds of design firms and advertising agencies. A panel of experienced industry professionals judge entries on four elements: Creativity and Overall Design Aesthetics, Effectiveness, Practicality, and Ethics.
